Portrait of a Fish is Jalan's sixth album and his first 100% solo project. Jalan was the sole musician, playing every instrument (guitar/banjo/harmonica), and he sang each song live during the tracking. The album features a wonderful mix of traditional tunes, covers, and a healthy dose of original compositions - each with its own unique treatment. Like Driftwood Souls, this album was recorded and mixed by Dan Tinker at Thunderground Sound Studio in Laramie, Wyoming and mastered by Jim Wilson at Airshow Mastering.
